Prāṇa in Sanskrit means life force. It is abundant energy that permeates all animate and inanimate objects. It is everywhere. Pranamaya is first Kriya I have ever learned more than 28 years ago. It is descending Shakti Kriya. In classical Kundalini Yoga the lower chakras are awakened first, but with Pranamaya it is not so. Shakthi means power or energy. It is said that Universe is created out of 2 forces. One is active and another inert or passive. So Pranamaya that is how I named it, because I couldn’t find another name. It is very very rare Kriya. Through out my endless travels and research in to the subject of Yoga, I couldn’t find anything like it. Pranamaya is descending shakthi and is activating upper chakras first. It helps tremendously with enhancing perception and receptivity. Because it works directly with ones energy body and field, hence Pranamaya. It makes it cohesive and balanced. The strength of practitioners “aura” becomes very apparent.
I strongly discourage Yogic powers to be used for healing, because the main goal is awareness, not body. Body heals when proper conditions for healing are met. But using ones energy involves Karmic exchange and that is not desirable especially in the beginning . True results of practicing are noticed when someone changes habits, breaks free form old karmic structures and this Kriya is very effective for that. There’s no free rides in this life, therefore I strongly encourage everybody to work and learn by themselves . Once energy channels or nadis are cleaned, great tings start happening in one’s life.
